kidsView is an outdoor space for kids to learn how to use their bodies and minds to overcome challenges and thrive in all settings.
About me
I grew up in Syracuse, NY before discovering the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. After graduating in 2000 from Utica College in Utica, NY, I was able to work as a traveling therapist in many different settings. Working with children has always been a passion of mine which became even stronger after having two children of my own.
My professional and personal goal is to catch the children slipping through the cracks and provide the necessary skills for both academic and social success. I am hoping to help kids and parents thrive instead of trying to just get through the day. Each child is unique and presents with unique struggles, making each assessment and treatment individualized.
Another passion of mine is being outside. kidsView is a place where kids spend time in nature to be creative, explore the environment, practice life skills, and engage in therapeutic activities. Being in the outdoors awakens the senses and motivates kids to engage in tasks they would otherwise refuse. Nature nurtures all therapeutic goals.
Some common concerns kids come to kidsView with include;
*sensory processing (tolerating sounds, sights, touch, etc)
*impaired coordination
*anxiety
*social skills
*visual deficits
*behavior management
*generalized weakness
*struggles in school paying attention
*independence with self care tasks
*understanding Autism
*handwriting
“Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to.”
